Beyond Burnout & Stress
Tech professionals don't experience burnout because they are weak or not resilient enough. It happens when their nervous system has carried more pressure, urgency, responsibility, and emotional labor than it was ever meant to hold alone, leading to emotional exhaustion.
Fast-paced environments, layoffs, team instability, discrimination, constant uncertainty, in addition to stressful life circumstances, and after effects of past trauma all push the body into chronic stress. Over time, motivation drops, emotional numbness increases, and work starts to feel impossible even when you’re trying your hardest.
